Meals and school supplies for Disadvantaged Kids

Once per week during the month of July our youth and adults are preparing sack lunches for disadvantaged children that live in the Hudson Bend Middle School area. We prepared about 380 sack lunches for distribution.

In August we will collect school supplies, including backpacks and to give to the disadvantaged kids attending Hudson Bend Middle School. These were delivered to the school at the end of August

Service to the Community,

During the fall of 2011 the church is begining a new emphasis on service to the community. The membeship will be involved with feeding, and care of people in the community. Our membership provide help to people affected by the Central Texas wild fires of 2011.

Leadership Training for Christ (LTC)

We are already planning the training to prepare for the next LTC convention which will occur in early April 2012. This is a program that equips youth grades 3 through 12 to develop their knowledge of the Bible and biblical principles, enhance their communication and leadership skills, and orient their energies and abilities to areas of Christian service.

The theme for next session is Journey of Faith. Study of the Bible Bowl book Genesis is began August 28, 2011.

We have youth involved in bible reading, bible quiz, small chorus, song leading, drama, puppets, arts and service. Training for these skills will begin in January 2012.

Women's Fellowship

The second Tuesday of each month (suspended during the summer) the women meet for focused Bible study, dinner and friendship in a casual setting. Most months the women meet for a night or day out.

Other Activities

At different times of the year, we have a thanksgiving time food drive, prepare bankets for the underprivaledged, sing at a the Vista Oaksl Assisted Living Center, participate in youth bible camps, undertake service projects, conduct a Vacation Bible School, and participate in other events.
