July 2007 Lectureship
What a great week, so far. The singing is absolutely unbeleivable. The enthusiasm
is contagious. The speakers are doing an excellent job. The fellowship is
outstanding. Dwight Whitesett and David Carr are doing an excellent job covering
Colossians. Joseph Stewart, from Hawaii, is doing a great job teaching the
men's class. Anne Carr is having a great ladies' class. All is going well.
We had hoped to have 150 people in attendance. That happened on Monday night
with a count of about 153. Last night, it was estimated that close to 200
attended. We're bringing in more chairs and people are standing at the back
and just outside the building. Yesterday morning, David and Anne Carr, Dwight,
Tia Misa, Luaao Soli and I were on the morning talk show "Talofa Samoa".
We were the first 1/2 hour of the show. We have had members from 8 congregations
attend this week (Tafuna, Nu'uuli, Leone, Waipahu (in Hawaii), Vaimoso (in
Western Samoa), Hunter Valley (in Australia), Cleveland (in Australia), and
University (in Abilene) - Yes, I'm counting our speakers. I am videotaping
the singing and lessons each day (messed up on Monday night, though). Remember,
it will be David quality, not professional.
