Message from our Sponsored Students:

Dear Lake Travis Church of Christ

My name is Derushnie Khosa. I’m from highland hills church of Christ. I am writing to express my deepest thanks for the incredible support you have provided me recently. It is one thing to pursue a calling, but another thing entirely to have someone standing in your corner, and I want you to know how much I value your encouragement.

As I navigate my theological studies, your support has been more than just a helping hand, it has been a source of stability. Exploring into compound scripture, church history, and systematic theology is intellectually demanding and, at times, spiritually taxing. Knowing that I have your support allows me to focus more deeply on my research and reflections without the weight of unnecessary stress.

Your belief in my journey is helping me grow not just as a student, but as a person of faith. Thank you for being a part of this chapter of my life. I truly feel blessed to have you in my circle.

With warmth and appreciation,

Derushnie K

Message from our Sponsored Students:

Dear Lake Travis Church of Christ,

I hope and trust that you are all doing well.

I would like to take this opportunity to give you a detailed update on how my December holidays were, how the year has started, and to once again express my sincere gratitude for your continued support.

My December holidays were truly meaningful and spiritually enriching. I had the privilege of attending two youth camps during the break. These camps were not only times of fellowship and growth, but they also became platforms where I was given the opportunity to serve. I was entrusted with presenting two lessons, which was both a great responsibility and a blessing. Preparing for these lessons required intentional study, prayer, and careful thought, and I am grateful for the chance to pour into the lives of young people. Standing before them and sharing biblical truths strengthened my confidence and reminded me of why I feel called to ministry.

Beyond the camps, the majority of my holiday, including much of January, was filled with ministry related activities. I was actively involved in church work, assisting where needed, participating in youth engagements, and continuing to grow in practical service. Although it was a busy season, it was incredibly fulfilling. It encouraged me to see how what I am studying is already being applied in real-life ministry contexts.

I am now officially in my second year of the Bachelor’s programme. It feels like a significant milestone, and I am grateful to have progressed this far. This year, we have a much larger student body. The college is growing, which is very encouraging to witness. There is a strong sense of unity among us as students. We support one another academically and spiritually, and that environment makes a tremendous difference. Being surrounded by like-minded individuals who are serious about their calling helps keep me focused and motivated.

Academically, the year has already begun, and the pressure is definitely present. The workload has increased, expectations are higher, and there is a greater level of responsibility required in our studies. However, I genuinely appreciate this challenge. It pushes me to be disciplined, to manage my time wisely, and to work harder. I see it as preparation, not just for exams, but for future ministry. Growth often comes with pressure, and I am embracing it as part of the process.

As I look ahead, I am excited about what this year holds, both academically and spiritually. I am eager to see how God continues to shape and equip me through my studies and ministry opportunities. I also look forward to keeping you updated on my progress and sharing more testimonies of what your support is making possible.

I want to sincerely thank you again for sponsoring me. Your generosity is not just financial support, it is an investment in my calling, my education, and the ministry work I am involved in. I am deeply grateful for your trust and belief in me. I do not take it lightly, and I remain committed to working diligently and making the most of this opportunity.

May you be richly blessed for your kindness and faithfulness.

Kind Regards,

Njabulo Thobela

Our New church Home --- Coming in 2026 (we hope!)

For many years we have met each Sunday at the Lakeway Activity Center.  It has served us well, and our church has survived through good times and bad, including the COVID pandemic.

But, we have longed for our own home place – somewhere we can be seen, and found, by our neighbors and by all those new to the Lake Travis/Lakeway area.  Finally, plans are coming together to begin building on our property on Lohman’s Crossing Road — right in the heart of Lakeway!  We’ll be next door to the Lakeway Elementary School and across the street from the Catholic Church.
