Bible Continuity

Holy Bible

The Bible is the greatest book ever written.  It continues to be on the all-time best sellers list year after year.  But the Bible is more than simply the greatest book of all-time; it’s the most unique book of all-time.  There’s not another book like it or equal to it.

The Bible was written over a 1600 hundred year period, spanned 40 generations, and approximately 40 authors from every walk of life.  Authors like Moses, a political leader, Amos a herdsman, to Peter a fisherman, and Matthew the tax collector.

“For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:21).

The Bible was written in different places like in the wilderness, between prison walls, and on three continents; Asia, Africa, and Europe.  The Bible was also written in three languages, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek.

Yet there is harmony and continuity all throughout the scriptures.  “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16).

Imagine what you might have if you took five authors from one walk of life, one generation, one place, and one language speaking on just one subject.  You would have conflicting ideas and thought, not harmony!

The Bible is truly unique and one of a kind in its continuity.
