Totally Surrender

Surrender

G.B. Jr.

In early 2002 I was living in two different states, Utah and California.  I was working in California while my family was completing their school year in Utah.  So I would commute back and forth on some weekends and from time to time I would meet up with friends and play a game of basketball.

One weekend while in Utah, I was playing basketball when suddenly my attempt for a layup caused me to rupture by patella tendon.  I was driven to the hospital and x-rays were taken.  I was told I needed to have surgery right away to repair by knee.

The doctor told me he was going to give me anesthesia for my surgical procedure.  Even though I didn’t know all the details of the procedure or all the people that were going to be involved, I had to totally surrender myself to his instructions in order to repair my injury.

Many times we don’t know everything God has planned for our lives.  We don’t know the people he’s going to place in our path.  We don’t know what he’s going to allow us to go through, however, all we have to do is totally surrender to him and he will lead us to successful victory.

God doesn’t say our lives will be without pain, trials or headaches, but he does say trust in Him with all your heart, mind, and soul.  When we surrender our lives and allow him to take control we will be better off with him than without!

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5).

So the question remains, “Will you surrender your heart, mind and soul to Jesus?”
