This past Memorial Day we enjoyed a four day Western Caribbean cruise with my Mother-in-law.  As we boarded the Carnival Liberty we learned there were a total of 3600 passengers and 1100 cruise employees.  Our ship the Liberty was approximately two football fields in length and 12 stories high.  The ship included stores to shop, restaurants, theaters which featured a few comedians, several pools, hot tubs, ping pong table, etc.

We became acquainted with people we never met before and enjoyed their company.  Dinner included dancing in the aisles which truly helped you to get to know your neighbors.  After the second or third day we realized something truly remarkable, we were a community of people from different places and different backgrounds, but had many things in common.  We looked forward to visiting with each other.

The body of Christ is very similar in nature.  We come from different places and have different upbringings, but we have one absolute thing in common that resonates eternally.  We have a common love for all people and we fellowship with one another to keep our relationship with God strong.

We have an eternal home that we look forward to with a community of other faith field believers.

“All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved” (Acts 2:44-47)
