No Compromise

compromise

Do you remember being young and making bad decisions?  Maybe compromising your values?  There’s been some compromises I have made as an adult that were not so smart, however, there’s nothing worse than compromise that has a high dose of evil sprinkled into the mix.

It’s contrary to God’s will for our lives and leaders must learn not to compromise what they believe.  If we are not careful we can blend into the environment and live situational lives and go along with the crowd.

One of the things we learn about Daniel this past week is that he didn’t compromise his belief in God.  Daniel lived faithfully for God in very difficult circumstances.  We need men and women like Daniel in our day who are willing to stand for God no matter what may come their way.

There are many qualities that Daniel displayed, but three (3) come to mind that I would like to share:

  1. Daniel was skillful and wise and had a fine reputation among the people. James tells us “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”  (James 1:5 NIV)
  1. Daniel was a person of knowledge and must have given hours in study. Paul tells the Christian believer to “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”  (2 Timothy 2:15 NIV)
  1. Daniel had a broad educational background and an understanding of science. Daniel used his education as a tool to better serve people and do the will of God

God will use young and old alike to fulfill His work and purpose.  As a young man, Daniel certainly earned a place among the great leaders in history.  He served as an excellent example of someone who didn’t compromise his beliefs.

If you live faithfully for the Lord no matter what and serve Him, He will reward you.  My prayer for you is that God will grant you the courage to be like Daniel.  “No Compromise.”
