Faithfulness

Great is Thy Faithfulness

We just celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday and had a wonderful time with family and friends.  We ate together, laughed together and prayed together.

That same weekend my wife and I traveled to Houston to meet up with some long-time friends.  We attended the Harvard vs. Rice girls’ basketball game.  Harvard ran away with a close one.

Early that next morning on Sunday we then traveled to Tulsa Oklahoma where I had the honor and privilege of baptizing my sister-in-law into Christ Jesus.  We all were rejoicing with tears of joy and thankfulness.

I often think of all the things I’m so thankful for and the older I get the longer my list grows.  It’s not that God has necessarily blessed me more, but I now realize, He’s been blessing me all along.

He’s blessed me beyond anything I could ever imagine.  He continues to amaze me by His wonderful grace.  He shines upon my life and the things He shows me from day to day.  There’s a song entitled “Great is Thy Faithfulness.”  It describes that every morning we rise is a symbol of His mercy and grace.  No matter what, He is always faithful and we ought to be thankful.

“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are yes in Christ…..” (2 Corinthians 1:20)  Sometimes in life people disappoint and won’t keep their promises, but God has always been and will always be faithful to His promises.
