Wisdom

Have you heard of someone named Eldrick Tont Woods?  More commonly known as Tiger Woods?  Probably one of the best, if not the best to ever play the game of golf.

On many occasions Tiger would be trailing and charging during the final round over a four day major tournament, wearing his signature red golf shirt on Sunday afternoons.

His opponents would be shaking in their golf shoes hearing the roars from a distance as Tiger would be gaining ground quickly and cutting into the lead.  If you happened to be matched up with Tiger on the final day, you knew you were going into hot water.  Not by choice, but sometimes that’s just how things would work out.

Have you ever gone into a situation knowing that you were going into a place that was already boiling?  I have used the Tiger Woods golf illustration, but there is a point that is more spiritual.

Sometimes we go into situations not knowing all we need to know, but sometimes we know it’s going to be hot and the best thing we can do is ask God for wisdom.

Solomon was a wise man and asked God for wisdom and God granted him exactly what he ask for.

If you and I pray and ask God for wisdom he will grant you wisdom.  James says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”  (James 1:5 NIV)

If you lack it, ask for it!
