We are well into the month of September. It’s the end of the summer and our children are back to school. Days are getting shorter and temperatures cooler. At least some places throughout the country are cooler. Here in Texas we have dropped from 100 degrees down to 93 degrees. While cooler, probably not too cool for some.
Today is September 7th, 2015, Labor Day. Labor Day honors the American labor movement and contributions that workers have made to strengthen the prosperity of our country. Today we honor those who continue to work and provide for themselves and their families.
“For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.” (2 Thessalonians 3:10 NIV)
Many people may think that work is an undesirable thing and may be unwilling to work, but if God has given you the ability to work, you can be thankful for that. Be thankful that you have your right-mind and your health. All you need now is the right attitude.
Perhaps you may be one of the lucky ones who do not have to work this Labor Day and if so great! However, when you get back to work tomorrow or later this week, give God the glory!
