Liar Lunactic or Lord?

Jesus-Christ-is-Lord

There’s a 30 second television commercial with a dad leaving the office of Charles Schwab with his young son who was asking questions.   The boy asked, “Hey dad, who was that man?”  The dad answered by saying, “He’s our broker.  He helps look after all our money.”

The boy said, “Do you pay him?”  Dad answered, “Yes.”  And the boy continued with a series of questions such as, “Why do you pay him and why do you trust him?”  The dad really didn’t have the answers he was looking for.  This makes me think of Jesus and the conversation he had with his disciples.

While in Caesarea Philippi, Jesus asked his disciples these questions:  “Who do people say I am?”  They replied by saying, “Some say, John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.”  (Mark 8:27-28).

Who is Jesus?  Satan does a pretty good job getting people to believe lies such as Jesus was just a good man, a prophet, a good teacher, but Jesus was much more than just that.   Jesus asked Peter, “Who do you say I am?”  Peter replied by saying, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

The Bible says, “I and the Father are one.”  (John 10:30).  In the Old Testament book of Exodus God said to Moses, “I am who I am.  I am has sent me to you.”  (Exodus 3:14).

Jesus is who he says he is.  Which secures our future.  He gives us hope.

Who do you say Jesus is?  Some say he was a Lunatic and others say he was a Liar, but I agree with Peter.  Jesus Christ is Lord.
