By Grace

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

While we are saved by God’s goodness and grace, it takes faith on our part in order for his grace to ignite.  All those who desire to be saved cannot do it by themselves, but it must be supplied by the Lord himself.

If salvation was based on grace alone, all people everywhere would already be saved.  However, we have to be willing to accept his grace which is connectional.  Which means we have to comply with his conditions?  Which include repenting, confession and being baptized for the forgiveness of sin?

Some additional questions to think about:

  • Why does Paul praise the people of the Thessalonica church for their work of faith?       (1 Thessalonians 1:3).
  • Why does Paul tell the church at Philippi to work out your own salvation?        (Philippians 2:12).

Jesus gave His life on Calvary and paved the way by his blood that we might win a bright shining crown.  He suffered to pay it all and because of his suffering, death, and resurrection, we have a home prepared way over in glory land.

Praise His Holy Name!
