Do You Give Well?

giving

In the gospel of Luke, Jesus often taught on the subject of giving.  He spoke on the blessedness of giving in hopes that we may also receive such blessedness.

There are different types of givers; those who rarely give, those who give begrudgingly, and those who give graciously.  Those that rarely give are generally selfish, stingy, and sometimes greedy.  In the long run they do nothing but hurt themselves.

Those who give begrudgingly give out of a sense of obligation.  It makes no difference how much one gives if it wasn’t done in the right spirit.

But those that give graciously, sacrificially, joyfully, freely, give from a spirit of the Lord.  When one gives this way, it’s indicative of God’s grace at work in both the giver and recipient.

God blesses those that give in a proper manner.  “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed  to give than to receive’” (Acts 20:35)

When you learn to give well, your giving will bless you more than the one who receives it!
